Johan Nieuwoudt , DVM, Ph.D. (Clinic Owner)

Dr. Johan Nieuwoudt grew up in Zimbabwe. He did his undergraduate studies in Johannesburg, South Africa, and came to the United States to receive a Ph.D. in Physics. After doing research in geophysics for Shell Oil, he decided to attend vet school at Texas A&M University and graduated in 1999. He loves being a vet, especially internal medicine, surgeries (soft tissue and orthopedic), ultrasonography and dentistry. He is the proud owner of four cats. His hobbies include woodworking and reading poetry.

Rachel Hibbitts , DVM

Dr. Hibbitts graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2002. She is married to Dr. Toby Hibbitts, a herpetologist at Texas A&M. She has a 2 year old daughter, Holly and is expecting a second daughter in September.  She owns two dogs (Pica and Idgy).

Ashley Fillippa 

Ashley has been a veterinary technician since 2002. She has been with the WRVMC team since 2008 and is now the Practice Manager. She is currently pursuing a BA in business management. She is happily married and is the proud owner of two wonderful labs, Brew and Amber. During her spare time she loves to spend time at Lake Bryan with her husband and labs.

Amber Bendele

Amber is from San Antonio, Texas. She is pursueing a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science at Texas A&M. She plans to pursue attend Veterinary School after she graduates . She is interested in large animal medicine. When Amber is not working or studying she enjoys riding her horse, Ali, playing with her Leopard Catahoula mix, Darla, and hanging out with friends.

Arturo Velasquez

Arturo is attending Texas A&M to acquire a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He plans to attend veterinary school following graduation. During his four years of high school, he worked at a veterinary clinic. He is passionate about working with animals and plans to work in Zoo medicine. In his free time, he enjoys baseball, fishing and horseback riding. He is excited about working at WRVMC to gain more experience in veterinary medicine.

Hailey Birkner

Hailey is a freshman at Texas A&M. She is pursuing her pre-requisites for veterinary school. Hailey is very outgoing and loves animals. 

Haley Patton 

Haley joined our team in November 2012. She is recently engaged to her best friend, Sean McKinney. Haley originates from Arlington, Texas. She owns a sugar glider named Lola, and is totally obsessed with her Maltipoo Cookie. 

 Heather Teichgraeber

Heather joined our Veterinary team in February 2012. She has been a Veterinary Technician since 2002. Heather is from Houston, Texas and transferred to Texas A&M University in 2008. She received her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science in 2011 and plans to attend Veterinary School in the future. In her spare time, Heather loves to spend time with her friends, family and her Golden Retriever, Ellie. 

Jesse Woodley

Jesse is from Richmond, Texas and graduated high school in 2011. She is pursuing a degree in Animal Science and plans to attend veterinary school following graduation. In her free time she enjoys riding her horses as well as spending time with her friends. She owns a cat, Wiley.

Karli graduated from Texas A&M in August of 2012 with a degree in Wildlife and Fisheries. She married her best friend in May 2012 in Santa Barbara, California. She owns an Australian Shepherd, Ford. She loves aniamls, reading, baking and excercising.

Kelly joined our team in September 2012. She enjoys working out and playing volleyball. Kelly owns a snake named Gregory.

Sabrina is orginally from Marble Falls, Texas. She graduated from Texas A&M in 2012 with an Animal Science degree and plans on pursuing an education in veterinary medicine.

Sarah Lea Davison

Sarah Lea is from California.  She joined our Wellborn team in July 2010 and is our Head Receptionist.  She is the happy mother of four amazing kids, three well-loved ferrets, and one fat cat.

Tatum Morgan

Tatum is from Katy, Texas.  After graduating high school in 2007, she moved here in pursuit of a Business Management Degree.  She is one of our full time receptionists and has been with our WRMC team since October 2010.  She owns a Shih Tzu, Gunner and a Yorkie, Allie.
